About Riverton Mineral & Gem Society
The Riverton Mineral and Gem Society (RMGS) is a nonprofit club in Riverton, Wyoming, open to people of all ages and experience levels who share an interest in minerals and rockhounding — membership is not restricted to Wyoming residents. The club holds monthly educational meetings during the fall and winter at the Riverton Senior Center, and organizes free summer field trips around Wyoming, with a new field-trip calendar built each spring; some destinations carry their own site fees, including a private fish-fossil quarry near Kemmerer. The club runs an annual silent-auction fundraiser in February and a Christmas party in December.
