About Cheyenne Gem & Mineral Society
Also known as the Cheyenne Mineral & Gem Society, this club is a member society of the Wyoming State Mineral and Gem Society (WSMGS) based in Cheyenne. Members pursue faceting, cabochoning, jewelry making, and stone carving, and the club goes on field trips. Meetings run September through May (excluding December) on the second Wednesday of the month at the IBEW Union Building. The club's best-known public event is its annual Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Rock Show, held each May at the Archer Event Center in partnership with other regional dealers, now in its mid-teens of annual editions, featuring gold panning demonstrations, fluorescent mineral displays, and vendor sales alongside club exhibits.
