About Tehachapi Valley Gem & Mineral Society
The Tehachapi Valley Gem & Mineral Society (TVGMS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1986 that promotes the study of earth sciences, particularly rocks, minerals, fossils, and gems. The society sponsors lectures, classes, demonstrations, field trips, and school visits, offers student scholarships, and hosts an annual gem show to share the hobby with the public. Its lapidary workshop provides members access to cutting and polishing machinery, and jewelry-making classes are also offered.
