About Searles Lake Gem and Mineral Society
Founded in 1939, the Searles Lake Gem & Mineral Society is a nonprofit that fosters public interest in the lapidary arts and geology, with a particular focus on the geology of saline minerals found around Trona and Searles Lake. The club organizes collecting field trips, such as a recent pink halite trip. Its long-running Gem-O-Rama show, once a major annual draw to the region, was permanently discontinued after the 2018 event.
