About San Luis Obispo Gem & Mineral Club
The San Luis Obispo Gem and Mineral Club is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting mineralogy, earth sciences, and lapidary arts. Members explore geology, rock and mineral collecting, fossil identification, and related crafts such as jewelry making and metalsmithing. Everyone is welcome to join, and members in good standing receive email notice of upcoming club field trips. The club runs a Junior Rockhounds program for younger members and hosts the annual 'Gems by the Sea' rock and gem show each September.
