About Lake Elsinore Gem & Mineral Society
The Lake Elsinore Gem and Mineral Society (LEGMS) is a nonprofit organized in 1989 whose purpose is to promote the collection and study of minerals and allied earth sciences and to share information on lapidary arts and jewelry techniques. LEGMS meets 10 times a year, participates in museum programs and shows, and goes on trips into wild geological areas as frequently as possible. The society is a member of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS) and the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies (CFMS), and it also hosts rock and mineral shows throughout the year.
