About El Dorado Gold 1848
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated December 28, 2020 to create a museum at 515 Main Street, Placerville, displaying local heritage and enhancing future education through preservation of historical buildings and artifacts related to the 1848 Gold Rush. Funding for acquiring the building came from the El Dorado County Historical Society, the United States Gold Panning Association, and a private donor. Leadership includes President Sue Taylor, Vice President Kris Payne, Treasurer Mike Ocenosak, and Secretary Jill Kearney.
