About Cody 59ers Rock Club

The Cody59ers Rock Club, established in 1959, promotes sharing knowledge of rocks, minerals, fossils, and gems through field trips, educational speakers, and group interaction. It is a member society of the Wyoming State Mineral and Gem Society. The club runs one field trip per month starting in spring, including regional expeditions such as a Bighorn Mountains outing, and holds monthly meetings the fourth Thursday of each month from September through May at the Wyoming Game & Fish Building near Cody. Each May, the club co-hosts the Bighorn Basin Rock Show with the Shoshone Rock Club of Powell, a two-day event with vendor booths, mineral and rock displays, and family activities.
