About Houston Gem & Mineral Society
Houston Gem & Mineral Society (HGMS) is a nonprofit dedicated to Earth Science education and related arts, offering classes and scholarships to members. General meetings are held both via Zoom and in person on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the society's own building. HGMS operates a lapidary shop with posted hours, runs a Paleontology section for fossil-focused members, and describes itself as open to all persons with "rockhound or fossil fever," including a youth program. The society also organizes field trips and is active on Facebook and Instagram.
