About East Texas Gem & Mineral Society
East Texas Gem & Mineral Society (ETGMS) was established following an organizational meeting on November 12, 1956, by individuals sharing a common interest in earth sciences. The society educates members about geology, mineralogy, gemology, fossils, and lapidary arts from its own clubhouse in Tyler. New members can join at any club meeting or event, and visitors are welcome. ETGMS hosts an Annual Gemstone and Jewelry Show and communicates with members through a Facebook group.
