About Minnesota Valley Gem & Mineral Club
Minnesota Valley Gem and Mineral Club is a nonprofit club in Mankato, Minnesota, dedicated to the advancement of the lapidary and mineral-collecting hobbies. It was formed in February 1957 by ten local rock and gem enthusiasts, meeting originally in members' homes, and was formally incorporated in 1970. The club held its first public display show in 1965. Club programs have historically included stone identification, information on collecting locations, and lapidary techniques such as cutting and polishing agate and other stones. Current meetings are held at the Eagles Club in Mankato. Annual dues for a single membership are $12.
