About Minnesota Mineral Club

Minnesota Mineral Club is a nonprofit organization founded in 1945 devoted to the study of mineralogy, geology, paleontology, and the lapidary arts, serving the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. Membership is open to both residents and non-residents, and most monthly meetings (aside from auctions and the annual banquet) are open to the public. The club is a member of the Midwest Federation and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies, which list it as kid-friendly with an emphasis on field trips and educational outreach. It organizes field trips to locations such as Montana, South Dakota, Iowa, Thunder Bay, and sites within Minnesota, and publishes a newsletter, Rock Rustler's News, ten times a year. The club hosts its Annual Rock, Mineral & Gem Show each fall at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
