About Cuyuna Rock, Gem & Mineral Society
Cuyuna Rock, Gem & Mineral Society is a nonprofit club serving Brainerd and central Minnesota, organized to foster scientific and educational interest in earth science, lapidary arts, and rock and semi-precious stone collecting. The club is a member of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies and offers a lapidary workshop, field trips, an annual show, and educational outreach programs. Meetings are held the 2nd Saturday of each month, with a board meeting at noon followed by a general meeting at 2:00 PM, at the Franklin Arts Center in Brainerd. Dues are $20 per household per year and cover all household members, including children under 18. The club welcomes newcomers regardless of experience level, stating its mission is to 'use what we know to further educate anyone who has an interest in our hobby.' It hosts an annual Gem & Mineral Show each spring at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds.
