About Mid-Tennessee Gem & Mineral Society, Inc.
Mid-Tennessee Gem & Mineral Society (MTGMS), founded in 1997, is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit dedicated to the study and enjoyment of the earth sciences. The society runs three rotating monthly meeting locations — Tullahoma, Nashville/Donelson, and Murfreesboro — and offers lapidary classes for adults through partner centers, plus a dedicated Kids Programs track. MTGMS is active in community education, providing in-school talks, hands-on demonstrations, Scout geology merit badge workshops, and library showcase displays across Middle Tennessee. The society also maintains a separate Facebook page for its affiliated Mid-South Faceting Guild.
