About Wayne County Gem and Mineral Club

Founded in 1973 by Robert Walker of Marion, NY and Marion Wheaton of East Williamson, NY, the Wayne County Gem & Mineral Club is a non-profit, education-oriented group of rockhounds. Meetings run September through June with doors opening at 6:30 PM for socializing before the 7:00 PM program. The club's youth group, the Mini-Miners, meets just before the regular meeting. Members get access to field trips, hands-on workshops (cabochon making, rock/mineral cutting and polishing, sphere making), educational resources, discounted admission to the club's annual GemFest show, newsletters, and leadership opportunities. Meetings are open to the public. Note: the club's DB-listed domain (waynecountygemmineral.org) no longer resolves; the club's current working website is wcgmc.org.
