About Long Island Mineral & Geology Society

The Long Island Mineral and Geology Society (LIMAGS) was formed in 1980 to serve residents on the east end of Long Island, NY, dedicated to furthering the study of Earth Sciences and encouraging participation and enjoyment in the mineral, geological, and lapidary fields. Members include retired earth science teachers, artists, and mineral collectors of all interests. LIMAGS is active with monthly meetings, field trips, an annual weekend mineral and gem show, and special presentations. New members are always welcome.
