About Delaware Valley Earth Science Society

The Delaware Valley Earth Science Society, Inc. (DVESS) is a non-profit founded in 1956 and incorporated in New Jersey in 1957. The society promotes interest, knowledge, and skill development in the earth sciences — including mineralogy, paleontology, lapidary arts, archaeology, and site preservation — for members in the Berlin, New Jersey area. DVESS runs a Junior Rockhounds youth program and holds an annual banquet. The club's website (dvess.org) was unreachable during this research pass; its own indexed newsletter archive dates back to the 2000s, an open question for how actively the site itself is maintained.
