About Butte Mineral and Gem Club, INC
The Butte Mineral and Gem Club offers monthly meetings and summer field trips to collect minerals, fossils, and gemstones around the Butte area. It teaches classes in lapidary arts, jewelry making, flint knapping, and mineralogy, and operates a large lapidary shop equipped for faceting, cabochon making, jewelry making, and large-scale material cutting. The club runs a full annual calendar including spring and fall craft bazaars, a summer picnic, a November live auction, and a December Christmas dinner. It hosts the Butte Mineral & Gem Show each year at the Butte Civic Center. The club's lapidary shop at 501 E Front St is open Thursdays 6:00-9:00 PM and Sundays noon-4:00 PM.
