About Bozeman Gem and Mineral Club
The Bozeman Gem and Mineral Club, organized in 1939, is the oldest rock club in Montana. Members pursue fossils, mineral specimens, faceting, jewelry design, gemology, geology, and lapidary arts. The club maintains two quartz mining claims and organizes monthly collecting field trips, including for fossils and petrified wood, and operates a member workshop for lapidary equipment use. It hosts the annual Bozeman Gem Mineral Club Rock Show, which includes activities for young visitors, and welcomes newcomers regardless of experience.
