About Blackfoot River Chapter

The Blackfoot River Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA) is a gold-prospecting club based in Lincoln, MT, continuing the town's gold-mining tradition dating to the 1860s. The chapter operates two placer claims covering roughly one mile along Poorman Creek, including one called the Lia Claim. Members prospect together at the claim during scheduled monthly outings through the prospecting season and welcome newcomers, providing hands-on instruction. As of 2026 the chapter has 21 members on the GPAA chapter directory.
