About Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club
The Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club, founded in 1971, brings together people who share an interest in local mineralogy, specimen collecting, and educating others about rocks and minerals. The club meets on the third Sunday of each month at the Cliff Shaft Mine Museum in Ishpeming and welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds, whether they are seeking geologic knowledge or social connection. Meetings feature presentations, expert speakers, auctions, and door prizes, and the club organizes summer field trips to collecting sites with landowner permission. Ishpeming hosts an annual Gem and Mineral Show, and there is no admission fee to attend club meetings.
