About Huron Hills Lapidary & Mineral Society

Huron Hills Lapidary & Mineral Society (HHLMS) is a member-based organization for people who enjoy rocks, minerals, and related fields, serving the Ann Arbor/Dexter area of southeast Michigan. The society was established in 1959 and incorporated as a nonprofit in 1963; it joined the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical & Geological Societies and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies in 1961. Its stated purpose is to stimulate interest in and enjoyment of the science of geology, including minerals and fossils, the lapidary arts, and jewelry handicraft. Membership is open to any interested person.
