About Flint Rock and Gem Club
The Flint Rock and Gem Club is a nonprofit lapidary and earth-science club based in Clio, Michigan, organized in 1956, incorporated in 1962, and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1980. Its mission is to promote and encourage understanding of earth sciences, lapidary arts, and related fields, and to share that knowledge with members, schools, and the general public. The club operates a clubhouse with rock-cutting and polishing equipment and offers wire wrapping, faceting, and stained-glass classes. It awards annual scholarships to University of Michigan-Flint students majoring in Earth Science and hosts its Rock and Gem Show each year at Crossroads Village in Flint.
