About Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club
The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club (CCRMC) is an active organization of rock and mineral enthusiasts based in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, in the historic Lake Superior Copper District of the Upper Peninsula. Organized in 1955, the club joined the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies in 1962. CCRMC gives people of all ages the chance to learn about and enjoy rocks and minerals through field trips, programs, and activities, with no prior experience needed to join. Members explore for regional specimens including native copper, datolite, and silver, and receive training in mineral identification and specimen display. The club is family-oriented, welcomes new members regardless of experience level, and hosts an annual Gem and Mineral Show.
