About Connecticut Valley Mineral Club

Connecticut Valley Mineral Club (CVMC), founded in 1940 and branded "Unearthing The Extraordinary Since 1940," is a Springfield, Massachusetts club for rockhounds, mineral collectors, and fossil enthusiasts. Non-members are welcome to attend meetings, held monthly at the Springfield Science Museum. The club plans roughly ten field trips and digs per year across New England, New York, and other regions, and hosts an annual mineral show. Programs include member presentations on minerals, rocks, and fossils alongside community-building events for the region's earth-science hobbyists.
