About Northern Berkshire Mineral Club
The Northern Berkshire Mineral Club (NBMC), founded in 1959, develops and educates students, community members, and club members in mineralogy — including rock and mineral formation, collection and identification, and lapidary arts — serving the North Adams, Massachusetts area. The club meets at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) from September through May and plans excursions most weekends during the season. Its signature fundraiser is an annual Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show at the North Adams American Legion, featuring vendors of minerals, fossils, and jewelry alongside activities like geode cracking. The club's former website (nbmclub.webs.com) no longer resolves; Facebook is now its primary online presence.
