About Mineralogical Society of the District of Columbia
The Mineralogical Society of the District of Columbia (MSDC) is an organization for rockhounds, professional mineral scientists, collectors, and enthusiasts, dedicated to learning together and furthering knowledge of mineralogy and earth sciences. Founded in 1942, the club historically met at the Smithsonian Institution and now meets on Zoom. MSDC organizes field trips in partnership with other regional clubs, runs an active YouTube channel with talks dating back to 2021, and welcomes newcomers to its meetings.
