The Gem, Lapidary and Mineral Society of Washington, D.C. was organized in 1949 and joined EFMLS (Region 4) in 1950, making it one of the older mineral clubs in the National Capital region. The club meets quarterly on Saturdays at the Potomac Community Recreation Center in Potomac, Maryland. As of its most recent EFMLS directory listing, the club was actively seeking volunteers to fill Secretary, Editor, and Webmaster roles, and maintains a Facebook group for members.
