About Oklahoma State Council of Mineralogical Societies
The Oklahoma State Council of Mineralogical Societies (OSCMS) is the statewide umbrella council coordinating Oklahoma's RMFMS-affiliated rock and mineral clubs, and it also runs its own northwest-Oklahoma rockhound group based in Waynoka, organized by council president Stan Nowak. That local group holds monthly meetings and has been sourced through Nowak's Rocks & Things, a rock shop at 1685 Cecil St. in downtown Waynoka. OSCMS co-hosts an annual Spring Rock Swap with Oklahoma State University's Boone Pickens School of Geology in Stillwater, featuring gems, minerals, stones and fossils.
