About Ada Gem, Mineral & Fossil Club
The Ada Gem, Mineral and Fossil Club is an Oklahoma rockhounding club organized to promote general and scientific interest in rocks, minerals and fossils. The club holds monthly meetings with guest speakers and organizes field trips to surrounding states for members. It runs the Rubble Raiders junior rockhounds program for kids. The club's best-known event is its annual Ada Gem, Mineral & Fossil Club Swap, Show & Sale, held at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex in Ada. The show features gem dealers from Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas and Texas, along with polishing and knapping demonstrations, a fluorescent UV display, a silent auction, a kids' fossil dig, and free admission and parking. The club manages meetings, membership and events through the Geology365 club-management platform.
