About Cincinnati Mineral Society

Organized in 1935 by Ohioan amateur mineralogists and geologists, the Cincinnati Mineral Society is an all-volunteer nonprofit that promotes mineral collecting and helps teach earth sciences and natural history in and around Cincinnati, serving southwest Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The society is a member of both the American Mineralogical Societies and the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Most meetings feature a speaker delivering an illustrated lecture, and the club hosts GeoFair, a three-day gem, mineral, and fossil show, each year.
