About Catawba Valley Gem and Mineral Club
The Catawba Valley Gem & Mineral Club, Inc. was organized in 1969 in Hickory, NC and joined the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical & Lapidary Societies (EFMLS) in 1973. Its mission is to increase knowledge of the earth sciences, hold exhibitions, contests and lectures, promote fellowship and exchange of ideas, and aid in the development of lapidary and related arts and skills. The club holds regular meetings with field trips, club shows, lectures and contests, and hosts an annual gem, mineral, fossil and jewelry show.
