About Southern Nevada Gem & Mineral Society
Founded in 1930 (originally as the Prospector's Club), the Southern Nevada Gem & Mineral Society is a nonprofit educational organization promoting interest and education in earth sciences, mineralogy, gemology, and lapidary arts. The club runs the SNGMS Lapidary and Education Center (LEC), a dedicated lapidary shop and classroom space, and hosts the Viva Las Vegas Rocks! gem and mineral show each November.
