About Great Basin Gem & Mineral Club
The Great Basin Gem and Mineral Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating members about earth sciences, geology, mineralogy, paleontology, archaeology, and lapidary arts, while fostering friendship among rock enthusiasts in the Carson City area. The club runs a robust field-trip program, with roughly 10 scheduled trips per year plus 3-4 additional bonus mid-week trips. Meetings are held monthly (except a July picnic and December potluck) at the Carson City Elks Club.
