About Ozarks Gem & Mineral Society
Ozarks Gem & Mineral Society, founded in 1957, gives rockhounds in the Ozarks region a place to gather and learn about earth science, geology, paleontology, mineralogy, lapidary arts, jewelry-making, and youth activities. The club meets monthly at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, Missouri, and uses a Nixa, MO post office box for mail. The society runs a workshop program and puts on Springfield's Rock, Gem and Mineral Show each year.
