About Central Maryland Rock and Mineral Collectors Exchange
Central Maryland Rock and Mineral Collectors Exchange is an informal Meetup-organized group for rockhounds, rock and mineral collectors, rock and gem artisans, and fossil collectors based in Elkridge, Maryland. The group gathers monthly to discuss and show off specimens, share ideas about local rockhounding sites, and buy, sell, or trade material. The meeting space has equipment for cutting and polishing rocks, a stereoscope, and mineral reference books; during the longer days of May through July, the group meets outdoors amid a garden of semi-precious and ornamental rocks and fires up a 10-inch rock saw for member use. Meetings are free, informal, and open to everyone, typically running from 7 to 9 PM with informal conversation continuing later.
