About Peoria Academy of Science - Geology Section
The Geology Section of the Peoria Academy of Science is dedicated to the study of all fields of the Earth Sciences, including geology, mineralogy, paleontology, conchology, and the lapidary arts. The section meets the 4th Tuesday of each month (except September and December) at Illinois Central College's Peoria Campus, Maple Hall Room 104. Members participate in field trips to collect minerals and fossils, hold in-depth study workshops, and operate a weekly lapidary workshop at the Miller Center in Pekin, IL that anyone can use to learn the club's equipment. The section hosts an annual Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show (61st annual in 2025) and supports geology education in area classrooms. Note: the DB record 'PAS Geology' (same pasgeology.org domain) is a duplicate of this entry.
