About Chicago Rocks & Minerals Society
Chicago Rocks and Minerals Society (CRMS) is a Chicago-area club for rockhounds, collectors, and beginners interested in rocks, minerals, and fossils. Founded in 1946 (the club's oldest newsletter is dated October 1946), CRMS welcomes members of all ages and experience levels. The club runs a Geo Juniors program with an FRA Badge Program for young members, and its objectives include promoting the lapidary arts. CRMS meets the second Saturday of each month at 7:30 p.m. (except July and August) at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Skokie, and organizes the annual Chicagoland Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show.
