About Owyhee Gem & Mineral Society
Owyhee Gem and Mineral Society fosters enthusiasm for mineralogy and lapidary arts in southwestern Idaho. The club meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in Room 103, Boone Science Building, at the College of Idaho in Caldwell. Annual dues are $15 for singles, $20 for couples, $25 for families, and $5 for children 18 and under. The society runs a field trip program from March through October, with eight outings scheduled in 2026 to collect thundereggs, fossils, agates, and other specimens, and it welcomes visitors and families with children, with a dedicated Juniors section. The club hosts its 72nd Annual Rock & Gem Show March 7-8, 2026 at O'Connor Fieldhouse, 2207 Blaine, Caldwell, and publishes a newsletter, the Owyhee Gem.
