About Augusta Gem and Mineral Society

Augusta Gem and Mineral Society (AGAMS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring and sharing geology, mineralogy, paleontology, and the lapidary arts in Augusta, Georgia. The club describes itself as a welcoming community for rocks, minerals, fossils, lapidary arts, and earth science education, open to seasoned collectors and curious newcomers alike. AGAMS meets monthly at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Augusta, where members socialize, share specimens, and take in educational programs. Annual dues are affordable for individuals, families, and junior members age 8 to 18. The society maintains a "Kids Corner" section on its website introducing children to rockhounding and earth science. AGAMS is affiliated with the Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
