About East Coast Gem & Mineral Society
Founded in 2023 and based in Fairfield County, CT, the East Coast Gem & Mineral Society describes itself as "a vibrant community of positive energy people dedicated to exploring, learning, and celebrating the natural wonders of geology." It welcomes collectors of all experience levels, with a stated mission around education, ethical collecting practices, and conservation. Members are drawn from CT, NY, NJ, MA, NH, VT, VA, PA, and RI. The society runs field trips to collecting locations for minerals, fossils, and other geological features, and hosts a Summer Mineral Show and an Autumn Mineral Show each year.
