About Friends of Mineralogy - Colorado Chapter
The Colorado chapter of Friends of Mineralogy, a national society (established 1970 in Tucson, AZ) advancing serious interest in minerals among collectors, professionals, and curators. The Colorado Chapter was founded in 1978 in Denver and meets on the Colorado School of Mines campus. Activities include legal collecting trips to quarries, mines, and rock dumps, publications on Colorado localities and minerals, museum support, and educational exhibits. The chapter is hosting a "Colorado 150: Celebrating 150 Years of Colorado Statehood" symposium June 11-15, 2026 at the Mines Museum of Earth Science & Hill Hall.
