About Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society
A federation-authorized rock and mineral organization founded in 1936 by rockhounds and geologists exploring the Pikes Peak area, serving the Colorado Springs area ever since. CSMS is organized into nine specialized interest groups: Academics, Crystal Study, Faceting, Fossil Study, Jewelry, Lapidary, Micromount, Pebble Pups (youth), and Photography. The club publishes a monthly newsletter (Pick&Pack), maintains a library, and hosts the annual Pikes Peak Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry Show.
