About Colorado Mineral Society
A Colorado non-profit educational organization focused on minerals, gemstones, and rocks, founded in 1936 and celebrating its 90th year in 2026. The society is a member of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies, and runs an extensive annual field trip program, including trips designated for junior and family participants and a trip to Florissant for sedimentary rock study.
