About Prineville Rockhound Pow-Wow Association
Formed through a collaboration between the Prineville-Crook County Chamber of Commerce and the All Rockhounds Pow Wow Club, with roots reaching to 1945-46 when a federation show relocating to Madras left a gap the community filled. "Connecting People with Rocks Since 1945," the organization's mission is to bring together rockhounds of all ages to share knowledge, passion, and respect for gems and minerals while providing educational opportunities in geology and mineral identification. Its flagship event is the annual Rockhound Pow Wow show and rockhounding trips at the Crook County Fairgrounds; club membership can be purchased at the show's information tent and includes access to free rockhounding trips.
