About Oregon Agate and Mineral Society
Founded in January 1933, the Oregon Agate & Mineral Society exists to educate, entertain, and demonstrate the many aspects of geology and the rockhound hobby through programs, field trips, and classes in lapidary arts and jewelry making. The society hosts its long-running annual Agate & Mineral Show at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) in Portland, featuring agates, minerals, fossils, handcrafted jewelry, live lapidary demonstrations, exhibits, and family activities.
