About Clackamette Mineral and Gem Club

Clackamette Mineral & Gem Corporation of Oregon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1963 that promotes interest in the lapidary arts and earth sciences through collecting gems, education, sharing, and its annual Rock and Gem Show. Members participate in cutting, tumbling, polishing, and faceting minerals. The club hosts monthly meetings with guest speakers or member presentations on earth science topics, rock door prizes, and a monthly newsletter called "The Clackamette Gem." Field trips for rockhounding are a regular, well-attended activity, and guests are always welcome. Proceeds from the annual show fund educational scholarships for youth. The club emphasizes "fun and fellowship" among its members alongside its educational mission.
