About Worthen Earth Searchers
Worthen Earth Searchers is a newer, active rock, gem, mineral, and fossil club serving the Quad Cities area of Iowa and Illinois. The club teaches members about rocks, gems, minerals, and fossils through three core activities: learning, hunting for specimens, and lapidary work. It offers field trips throughout the year (including concretion-opening and fossil-hunting outings), lapidary equipment instruction, and jewelry-making workshops, and is a member of the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Children of all ages are explicitly welcomed, with the club promoting itself as ideal for beginning rockhounds.
