About River Valley Rockhounds

River Valley Rockhounds was organized in 1961 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and joined the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies in 1962. The club currently has about 28 adult members. It meets regularly to discuss earth science topics and hosts an annual Rock, Gem, Mineral, Jewelry and Fossil Show at the Webster County Fairgrounds, which reached its 61st year in 2026.
