About Spring River Gem & Mineral Club
The Spring River Gem and Mineral Club (SRGMC), founded in January 1971 and based in Cherokee Village, Arkansas, meets monthly to present programs on the state's history, geology, and culture, with speakers frequently drawn from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, and Lyon College in Batesville. Each meeting includes a silent auction of member-found or worked rocks and jewelry, and visitors are always welcome. The club takes field trips 8-10 times per year in search of rocks.
